Restored Organ Unveiled at Chapel Concert

Last Sunday 17 September the Organ Concert & Dedication was held in the Queen’s College Chapel to celebrate the restoration of the College organ. The dedication of the organ was performed by Rev. Professor Emeritus Robert Gribben, Fellow of the College, with performances by David Agg, Queen’s College Chapel Organist; Edwin Kwong, former Queen’s College Organ Scholar; and Thomas Heywood, Director of Music, St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Brighton.

Restored to its original location in the middle of the balcony, the organ looked magnificent and, most importantly, with its sounds equally restored back to their original beauty, the concert was a delight for the eighty plus members of our community in attendance. The procession of events included a welcome from the Master, Dr Stewart Gill OAM, and also a recount of the restoration project from the former Master, Professor David Runia, which you can read in full here: http://www.queens.unimelb.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/Organ-Oration.pdf
