The Wyvern Society recently hosted 60 young Wyverns for drinks and nibbles at the newly refurbished Nicholas Laboratories. The night provided a wonderful opportunity for Wyverns from 2011-2015 to reconnect and meet friends old and new. There were talks of degrees finishing, Masters undertaken, travels enjoyed, professions started and Wyvern houses established.
The gastronomic prowess of the College’s new catering manager, Pascal Berthelemy, was on full display, to the delight of the crowd. Butterflied prawn canapés, slow-cooked pulled pork on coleslaw bed. And the Head of the Labs opened not only the new bar and deck – which are spectacular – but also allowed the young Wyverns to enjoy the new pool room (the first function the room has hosted… not even the current residents have had a crack at it yet!). The room features deep leather sofas and the original full-size billiards table, recently returned from storage and fully re-surfaced.
Needless to say, everyone enjoyed themselves. Oh, the perks of being young!
