Queen’s recently took on Trinity College in the Step Back Think Cup. The Cup is the initiative of our Colleges and Step Back Think, a not-for-profit organisation focused on the prevention of social violence.

The communities of Trinity and Queen’s have both been touched by the scourge of social violence with a friend having been taken by an act of senseless violence 18 months ago. Both Colleges were proud to lace up their boots with their wholehearted support behind Step Back Think—and many in memory of a close friend and team mate.
A tough but fair contest was played out on the day in front of incredible support from both Colleges. In the end Trinity were the victors on the scoreboard. But the true win was for collegiality and sportsmanship—which extended to a friendly BBQ get together of both teams, their family and friends at Queen’s College after the game.
We look forward to competing for the Step Back Think Cup again next year—and in promoting the eradication of social violence from Australian society.
