Dear Wyvern,
At Queen’s we pride ourselves on offering an education of high quality to all of our students coming here from all walks of life.
Looking back, I remember coming here as a very inexperienced young man nearly 40 years ago. It was my first foray into the larger world outside Geelong and my first time living away from home. The three years I spent here were not only highly enjoyable, but also of immense importance for my development. They laid an indispensable and solid foundation for my future life and career. I am sure that you will agree that we were given an excellent environment in which to pursue our studies and develop our character. My sense of gratitude is all the greater when I recall the generous scholarship assistance that I received while living here.
I ask you too to think back on your own time at Queen’s and reflect what your collegiate education did for you ‘ not only academically, but also culturally, spiritually, socially, and on the sporting field. I hope that you will join with me in supporting this year’s Annual Giving Appeal, thereby helping to build and maintain those same foundations for our current and future students.
As always, I extend my heartfelt thanks to our many supporters who have helped us in the past and are helping us now to make a difference here at Queen’s.
With best wishes,
Professor David Runia
