Fortune, fame and failure: Journeys of an Accidental Executive
Guest Speaker: Glenn Sedgwick, B.Comm, FAICD, FCA (Queen’s Council Member)
Glenn’s connection to Queens starts in 1985, when he was appointed as Resident Tutor in Accounting and Finance, by then Master Owen Parnaby. He lived at Queens until 1989.
Today Glenn is a Director at Equity Trustees Limited, Chairman of Australian Life Insurance Group (ALI), and of Australian Tourist Park Management. He has also, in recent times, been engaged as an advisor to firms including, Australian Super, Deloitte, Accenture and QBE.
Previously he was Managing Director of Accenture’s Asia Pacific Insurance and Wealth Management business working with approximately 750 staff across Asia, Japan, and China, where he lived in 2006-09. His clients included the AXA Group (ANZ, Japan and Hong Kong), AMP, Prudential Asia, Allianz China, among others.
Today he continues his relationship with Queen’s as Convenor of the Finance Committee, Chair of the Queen’s College Trust Corporation, and sits on the College Council. In his spare time he sits on the Foundation Committee for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
