Student Qualities
There are certain characteristics and criteria we look for in prospective students. These include:
Studying at University?
You must be enrolled in a course at The University of Melbourne, RMIT (City) or the Victorian College of Pharmacy. However, no more than 15% of the College can be made up of students studying at RMIT (City) or the Victorian College of Pharmacy, Parkville.
What can you do for the College?
You need to demonstrate an ability to make a significant contribution to the life of the College in any of the following areas:
- Academic
- Leadership among peers
- Music
- Theatre
- Public speaking, debating
- Church and/or community service
- Sport
- Social
Overseas Students
We welcome applications from overseas candidates, who we feel contribute greatly to the life and diversity of the College. Students who wish to reside at the College as part of a Study Abroad Programme are also encouraged to apply.
Community Qualities
We take care to ensure the college community is balanced in many ways. Some of the qualities we look for in the overall student population include:
- Approximately equal number of men and women.
- Balance of school background (public, private, church etc.).
- Mix of metropolitan, country, interstate and overseas students.
- Range of university courses.
- Spread of talents and interests.
How are the Qualities Assessed?
The qualities of each student and the community as a whole are assessed by means of academic record, referee statements and interviews or personal statements.
