How detailed do I need to make my answers?
The resume is used during the interview part of the application process. The answers you provide act as a guide for the interviewer to ask about certain aspects of your life.
For this reason you don’t need to write ‘essay’ answers. We are only interested in short statements (eg Performed in Year 12 production of Singing In The Rain). You will get the chance to provide all the detail you want during the interview.
I’m still not sure what sort of answers to provide …?
On each page of the resume there is a ‘View Example’ link in the right column. Click this link to get an idea of the type of answers we are seeking. If you still have questions, please email resume-admin@queens.unimelb.edu.au
Do I have to complete the resume in one go?
No. Each time you go to the next page in the resume, it will save your progress. You can return at any time to add more details. However, make sure you complete it within two weeks of starting (you will receive reminder notices when you get close to the due date).
What do I do when I am done?
When you have completed all the sections in the resume, click the submit button located at the bottom of the last page. Please note that once you submit your completed resume, you will be able to view the answers you provided, but you will not be able to modify them.
Once you have completed and submitted the resume, please complete the application form (either paper version or online version).
