- These scholarships are restricted to particular categories of recipients. Some are for undergraduates, others can also be given to postgraduates.
Applications to the Master are required for these scholarships.
- TCA Indigenous (up to full fees)
Funded through the generosity of the Trust Company of Australia, the scholarship pays the full residential fees for an indigenous student studying at the University of Melbourne. It is awarded in consultation with the Centre for Indigenous Education at the University of Melbourne. Further information is available from the Master. This scholarship may also be awarded to a student studying at the University of Melbourne with a recent refugee background who wishes to reside in the College.
- Fellows’ Scholarship (Major, Academic Excellence)
This scholarship, was instituted by the Fellows of the College in 2003 and is awarded to the student who obtained the most outstanding academic results in the previous year. This scholarship cannot be applied for.
- Fellows’ Scholarship (Major, General Excellence)
This scholarship, was instituted by the Fellows of the College in 2003 and is awarded to a student who shows outstanding promise in the areas of leadership and service to society. This scholarship cannot be applied for.
- Rex Johnson (Minor)
This scholarship is awarded to a student who has shown demonstrable leadership in non-academic areas of College and University life. It was donated by Mr A. R. M. Johnson, a distinguished engineer and a Fellow of the College, who died in 2003 at the age of 96. This scholarship cannot be applied for.
- Chorister (Minor)
The College offers two scholarships for students with singing talent who wish to make a significant contribution to the Chapel choir. The scholarship must be applied for in writing and an audition is part of the application process. Further information on these scholarships can be obtained from the Director of the Choir.
- The Lionel Philip Scholarship for Asian Languages
The scholarship is given in honour of Lionel Philip (Arts, 1940) who spent much of his life in Japan working in the Australian diplomatic service. It is awarded to an honours or a post-graduate student studying Japanese, Chinese or Korean language, history or culture. The scholarship covers the full cost of fees for residence for one year.
Qualified applicants can apply in writing to the Master.
- The William & Vera Pryor Scholarship
This award was made possible by the twelve children and grandchildren of William and Vera Pryor who all attended the College between 1938 and 1992. It commemorates and expresses their gratitude to them for encouraging and supporting the tertiary education of their family members, including residence at Queen’s. The intention of the award is to support a visiting fellow and/or outstanding student in residence at the College. Qualified applicants can apply in writing to the Master.
